Gently Led

Hello Dear Ones,

In the last couple of years...since becoming a mother, there have been times where I have felt so alone. Such dark times where I just knew that I couldn't wake up another day and do this any more.

"Kid's don't come with a manual, Lord!"

"I don't know what I'm doing!"

"I'm in this every day...on the battlefield...the flippin myself!"

These thoughts are at times immobilizing and all-consuming. The entire day is ruined because Mommy is in her head again. I can't really remember what was going on but I think I was having a pretty bad week. The kids must have been extra icky, we were cooped up in the house or something, or our financial situation was really bugging me. Somehow it came to me. A scripture...and I don't even remember how it came to me, but I saw it at the end of that week....Isaiah 40:11

"He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young."

~Isaiah 40:11

This scripture changed my life as a new mother! It poured something special into me....A PEACE that I have never had before. And it's pouring something new into me now as I have just suffered a miscarriage {that's a whole other post.....but "he gathers the lambs into his arms"....he has my little lamb now and it's OK}. But this scripture is my LIFE SCRIPTURE right now.

How amazing is it to know that God is with you on this journey of motherhood? He is leading you ever so gently. You are not alone. He is with you, and has you and your children in His hands. He holds you so close to his heart. He knows how important this calling is, and he would never throw you out there without a manual and leave you hanging. He is right there parenting alongside you...wiping up little butts right beside you...disciplining right beside up in the middle of the night....RIGHT BESIDE YOU!

Oh how this scripture has blessed me. But there are still tough days. There are days where those whispers from the enemy creep back into my head. I always refer back to this verse, and I hope you do too. From this verse, a dream of mine was born. I want every mother to know that she is not alone. That's why I created Gently Led, a ministry that I hope will one day help mothers everywhere find support and community and love! That's my dream, and I hope it comes true. But in the meantime, I hope that this scripture touches your heart and encourages you to keep putting one foot in front of the other. You can do this, just keep going Mama!
