How To Have An All-Season Wardrobe
Hello Friends!
When I was younger I used to bug my Mommy at the turn of every season for new clothes. I don't know what it was but it was almost like an animal instinct. I just got a feeling the weather was about to change and new that I needed to update my wardrobe. My mother seldom indulged my constant (and annoying...I'm sure) pleas for a fresh wardrobe, and I learned to make the core pieces in my closet work for every season.
I'm so thankful for a firm Mommy, because I'm resourceful about my clothes now and can find a new purpose for anything. If you're trying to keep your closet under control, here are some tips on having an ALL-SEASON WARDROBE.
1. Basics- Make sure you have a TON of basics! Things like soft basic tees in various colors can be used for any season or occasion. Under sweaters, tucked into jackets, or worn alone in the summer. Have leggings in capri length and ankle length, an LBD {little black dress}, a couple pairs of perfect fit dress pants, and a couple of solid-colored skirts. Don't forget your jeans (shorts, full length and capri)
2. Layering- The key to all-season dressing is to have lots of layering options. Camis, tees, cardigans, a long crochet vest.....these are perfectly buildable types of pieces.

3. Lots of Outerwear Options- Make sure you have a lot of outerwear options. Cardigans, sweaters, a light jacket, a mid-weight jacket, and two winter coats (one for dressier occasions and one for every day use) should get you through any type of weather. *Having a cute raincoat is a good idea too!*
4. Don't worry about sleeves- Make sure that your basic tees are short sleeved, but other then that...don't worry about the sleeves of your other items. Just because a shirt is long-sleeved doesn't mean that you can't wear it in the summer. I'm a big fan of a classic rolled sleeve!
5. Keep fabrications in mind- Be mindful of the fabrications of what you buy. Make sure your tees aren't too thick but flow over your curves and will last at least a year. Get your traditional leggings, but also have some athletic leggings for when you're working out. I also try to have a couple pairs of fleece-lined leggings and tights for those cold winter months. Also, make sure that your fashion tops aren't too heavy or too light. You want to be able to wear them all year long. Even if that cute peasant top has long sleeves, you'll still be pretty cool if you wear it with a pair of shorts and cute gladiator sandals.

6. Multipurpose Pieces- Invest in some multi-purpose pieces like a long tunic; or flowing shirts that could triple as a top over pants in winter, a top over leggings in spring, or a dress in the summer time. Huge scarves are great around your neck, on your head, around your waist, or as a vest {a good post for another day}.
7. Accessories- Mind your accessories. Have lots of scarves, hats, and all kinds of tights. There are so many options out there!
Utilize these tips, and keep them in mind the next time you go shopping. And remember....the best thing to wear, regardless of any season, is kindness. After all, things like kindness, love, and compassion NEVER go out of style.
